| In the spring of
1956, at the age of 29 Orville Haines graduated from the Reisch
College of Auctioneering, and Haines Auction Company was born. For
the next 50 years Orville sold livestock, real estate, farm
equipment, and personal property throughout the Midwest.
Eighteen years later, in the spring
of 1974 Wayne followed in his father's footsteps, and also graduated
from the Reisch Auction College. He joined the family business,
and for the past 32 years Wayne has sold literally thousand of
auctions, sometimes as many as five per week. He has specialized in
livestock marketing and was part owner of a livestock auction
market in central South Dakota. Wayne is a licensed real estate
broker and real estate auctioneer. He was the South Dakota state bid
calling champion in 1991 and a finalist in Midwest Auction
Championships in 1989. Haines Auction Company consists of many
family members including Kristie, his wife of more the 30 years.
They are parents of 7 children that are actively involved in the
family business in various ways. Wayne, Kristie, and family are
currently the 4th and 5th generation to operate the Haines family
ranch located in White Lake, South Dakota. |
